Notes About The Poem

Pesky Yellow Jackets Can Sting You

They hover around parked vehicles Looking just like an evil wasp Make sure you’re back in time Or you’ll find out to your cost A black and yellow summons will be stuck to your windscreen And when you see the parking fine No doubt you’ll want to scream So when you’re busy shopping Don’t be tempted to browse or linger And if you've obtained parking ticket Don’t show them your middle finger! Written after seeing a parking warden slap fines on 2 cars 8/6/18

TT is earlier in the year, MGP is more sedate if you can call motorcycling sedate but its not as busy as TT and they have different classes of bikes. Human League was one of the best gigs I've been to on the Island apart from sir Elton! If you get the chance to see HL do - Phil Oakey is bald now but wow that voice is still spot on:-) hugs jan xx

Love it Jan . Did you see the guy giving a ticket to the Ambulance outside the shopping center. No shame also there is a new Scourge in town here the Smoking Police who fine people £80 for dropping Ciggy buts. Easy Targets easy money . Is there a Grand Prix on the I.O.M at the minute my mate Dave is over there now for it.

Festival of motorcycling or Manx grand Prix is from 18th - 31st August. I heard about the parking ticket - sounds like a jobsworth with no brain and for the fag butts I thought most have the e cigs now!:-) hugs jan xx

I have never seen them, but I did park in a place once where tow trucks were waiting to tow away cars in five minutes, and mine was one of them. That was an awful experience. A fun ending as usual, Jan!

The dreaded jobsworths, the scourge of motorists, some are a bit too keen though, case recently of one slapping a ticket on an ambulance lol. Needless to say the health authority challenged it and it was thrown out and rightly so. Well written Jan.

I saw a cop car parked on double yellows I wonder if they'd do the same to them - common sense has to prevail ... but then we are talking parking wardens ... will say no more lol:-) hugs Jan xx
