Persistence

Your life’s not defined by the friends that you choose
Or the clothes that you wear or the weight that you lose
Nor can it be forged by the games that you play
Or where you lay down at the end of the day

It is honed in the ways that you overcome fears
And not fighting, but freeing the flow of your tears
Your response to the challenge when facing defeat
Will define who you are - once you’re back on your feet
