Perpendicular Identity
You stand tall and erect,
strutting about in your pretty peacock
liberal orthodoxy
Aristocratic academia
dressed in silken plumes of rainbow diversity
Boasting that you stand upright,
ready to fight ...
Champion the common cause of all people
You possess such a peculiar, perpendicular identity
So progressively haughty
You clamor to make your self-righteousness
plain for all to see
Why then do you look upon the downtrodden
with an air of clinical sympathy
Social experiments you love to do,
pouring taxpayer money
into your theoretical constructed points-of-view
Standing tall, looking in the mirror,
staring proudly at your progressive vanity
You polish the philosophical medals
on your pristine, intellectual brigandine
You stand erect and stiff in your perpendicular identity
Rigid and inflexible is your liberal orthodoxy
It makes your ego soar high on feel good,
saying that inclusion of all make others equal to thee
But you don’t truly believe this in your heart:
Why then do you cling so to your paternalistic policies
