Periscope

There is a submarine periscope that's staring intently. Let us hope that our frail little boat's got aboard stuff that floats. All I have is this Soap-on-a-Rope.

This is the one, right? Just do this: There's a submarine periscope/ It's staring intently. Let's hope/ that this frail little boat's/ got on board stuff that floats(that line is already perfect)/(last line is perfect too) You only had to fix two or three tiny things. Just saying "there's" instead of "there is" and making a slight adjustment on line two. It was very close to being limerick meter already, John. I think you are getting an ear for it now. The last one I saw was perfect!

funny poem here! but not a limerick..limerick believe it or not has only 2 possible meter patterns and must be written in them to be a limerick...it's a VERY strict form..you could label your short very funny writes as Light Verse or Verse or Rhyme any of those would fit! Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Holy Days to you!

CAn't seem to find one I have not read already when I skim your page, but clicking on this one, I sure remembered it. It is one of my favorites for your limericks.
