Perfect Present
Things are usually
Not as simple as they seem
Nothing can be solved
With a clean break
Can leave you with
Paper cuts and
A ribbon with a few red tendrils
Still hanging on for
Dear life
Enclosing with no closure
Some things
Can be resolved
Yet some will
Ever remain as
A mystery
A ? mark
A to be continued...
And maybe that’s okay
To know that it is never over
It is never The End
That ribbons can still be
Tied together again
Not clean
Obviously not the
Perfect aesthetic
One imagined
But it’s okay
Because the colorful ribbons
Usually enclose the
Perfect present
That is meant for you
