Perfect Match

A woeful young mermaid once sighed
'I shall never be anyone's bride!'
For to walk up the aisle
Would be oh, such a trial
Seems alas! to this rock I am tied!

A merman in search of a mate,
Said 'Darling, it's never too late
I'd be such a good catch
And our chromosomes match,
Though my sperm count is up for debate!

Some things can never be, except in realms of poetry. So why not entertain the thought, sperm count be damned. Life will find a way. Thanks for this masterpiece.
