Perennials In Their Seasons

Winter perennials lavished with hope
under layers of crisp snow
waiting their turn

Spring perennials hope to be noticed
duller than annuals
but more dependable and loyal

Summer perennials outlasting the annuals
proudly soaking up morning dew
last men standing

Fall perennials going away gently
giving their seeds gladly
easy like trees

I see the flowers and I get crazy; dirt therapy is calling my name.
