Giant green hands on thin frond arms Fingers spread to catch each drop Of promised rain Reflected shades of yellowed sheen Waltz with shadowed hues of green Lighter fingers wave in wind Leaf end tips like witches nails Curl and close all clasped and pinned Rivulets to guide each drip Down to waiting root ball So life water flowing down Is caught to feed another crown Of waiting hands
