People Food

Doey eyes that drip with sadness
lips tremble into a faint whine
A face of concern burning anticipation
the next bite is mine

Kublai sits by the table
begging for a morsel or two
No no Kublai, no no Kublai
this is people food

Each bite seems such a delight
the aroma makes his mouth water
Each chew to him seems rude
his face pleads you oughta

People food people food
every dog wants to eat
People food people food
much better then dehydrated meat

Everyday he tries to sway
with a face so sad you could cry
If he doesn't get your next bite
the little fat boy might die

You end your meal and walk away
whose licking your plate like his saucer
Jumping on my chair naughty boy
oh well with Kublai who needs a dishwasher.
