Penny Candy Paradise, 1962

...just inside the front door of Rexall Drug
the penny-candy bottom-shelf (easy reach!)
stretched about 15' I can picture it even now!

My little fingers
tightly clench
six saved pennies,
as I hurry to the drugstore
 aisle filled with
penny candy treasures,

….as far as my
eyes can see.

Oh! What a day for a child...There was a time when that was all it took for a few hours or even days of happiness...Great nostalgic(Is that even a word?) write, Jim, that brought back memories..Keep the creative pen flowing..Sara
