Penny Ante

No longer will a penny
For your thoughts make any sense,
Since there will not be any
Pennies left to thus dispense.

A penny saved, a penny earned –
Advice that represents
Frugality cannot be learned
Without the evidence.

From heaven, pennies won’t rain down
And that’s a consequence
Of a would-be king who lacks a crown
But rules at our expense.

Ilene, I guess I missed the attack on the penny. Another 'executive order'? Clever poem and I really love that last stanza. I wonder what the clown in the orange paint will go after next. It's a neverending horror story. Who gave this maniac the keys to his kingdom? All we can do is tell it like it is in our poetry. Words speak volumes. Hugs, Jan

Ilene I love the way you describe trump as a king without a crown ruling at our expense - I didnt realise his latest plan is to get rid of pennies, he is making the world economy more and more unstable with his hair brained ideas - its a worrying time for us all:-( we need a poem 'what with Donald do next' and hope it doesnt come true:-( hugs Jan xx

It costs 3.7 cents to make 1 penny.
