Penny Poem Lionel Derbyshire Penny I remember When nothing Daddy had Mummy never took It for granted But still bought candy The beetle sweet nut A delightful suck And hard to crack It filled my hunger tummy Timmy said it was yummy He had no money I shared him a penny He left for out country Found a Penny Made jingle bells Got married and had plenty Penny memory Mummy and daddy loved me When times were empty And money not too many We shared our little Which made Timmy very happy He married Penelope On our penny
