Pencils, Pens, Crayons, and Markers

Pencils, pens, crayons, and markers
Makes me
An artist of the highest degree.
I can make the neatest tree
With a bird family using it as a new addressee.
It will have all sorts of flowers around it with
A hungry bee.
While I am still sitting on my knees
I can make a zoo in which I have the only key.
These animals are the likes of which no one
Will ever see.
My mom is laughing with glee
As she relaxes with her cup of tea.
She says " Come here my favorite artist who is
Only three
Sit next to me as we go on your zoo journey."
My mom had set my heart free
Now I was filled with lots of creativity.

Bette, this reminds me that research showed when they asked kindergarten who was an artist, all hands went up. By second grade, only three of 25 hands went up. I wish we all had the confidence of a three year old our whole lives. This poem reminded me of this gleeful time, when you knew you were a great artist.

Thank you for the visit. I still draw, and paint up til this day. I have done the same thing for my children and grandchildren. Some of my children are artists which I am very thankful for.

A great Mom! For me, there is nothing like holding pen, pencil, along with the smell of crayons and paste!

Thank you for the visit. My mom was super. I agree with you. I still love to do it myself.
