Penal Case
I knew there would be
A price to pay
For my desertion.
I wasn’t afraid
But expectant,
Waiting for the fee,
Looking forward to a clean start.
When nothing happened
I realized
This was the penalty;
Allowed to be free,
Allowed to follow
My own path;
Left empty by my guardian god.
