Penal Case

I knew there would be A price to pay For my desertion. I wasn’t afraid But expectant, Waiting for the fee, Looking forward to a clean start. When nothing happened I realized This was the penalty; Allowed to be free, Allowed to follow My own path; Left empty by my guardian god.

We do things for good or bad reasons, and our present and tomorrows deliver the consequences. I can't speak for faith as I am not in any way religious. If you believe it, I hope it delivers what it says....James :)

When we desert God, we may feel "free," but losing faith carries a hefty penalty, Deb. Welcome to Poetry Soup! I just read your comment on Ryland's blog and wanted you to know that there really are some wonderfully warm people here who will enjoy sharing poetry with you. Best wishes for happy holidays, Carolyn
