Thermal air currents in physics are primarily explained by the Second Law of Thermodynamics which states that heat always flows from a hotter to a colder region, causing the warmer air to rise and cooler air to sink, creating convection currents.

I love to watch pelicans. This haiku brings me fond memories of running down a pier trying to get just the right photo of a brown pelican...I thought they were becoming rare.
