Pearly Gates

Don't know if I'll see those pearly gates
I've lived in sin thus sealed my fate
forgiveness came redeemed my soul
rejoiced to heaven tried not to fold
but I erred and fell and did backslide

my soul kept running. no place to hide
I kept the faith returned to the Word
stayed the  course with help from the Lord
I lived in sin, at last I'm free
I can see those pearly gates ahead of me
