PEARL HARBOR

P Propelled into the war after tora, tora, tora. E Escalation arrives in Oahu, paradise explodes. A Amorous and hula skirts set aflame at once. R Reveal of a takeover plan, pot shots extreme. L Lucid nightmare lit with oil and screams. H Hear it! Smell the scent that still reminds us A About the cost of freedom; the belch of deep R Roustabouts who have settled into their sleep. B Bust out! Ring the knell until it comes alive. O Odor lingers! We must bring it to the surface. R Round up the freedom fighters of the deep!

Thank you, Gershon! The impact of standing on the Arizona memorial…when I read the names, the realization kicks in. As you know history is indeed impactful. Hugs!

Such a thoughtful piece, Kim. So many sensory images bring your words to life. I am so glad you brought this "day of infamy" back into our awareness lest we forget its lessons taught in blood and sorrow. Truly a soldier's plea. Thank you. Sending you blessings and gratitude.

an appropriate and powerful poem for today and a reminder of what transpired on Dec. 7th. I appreciate some of the images and powerful senses you evoked: hear it, smell the scent that still reminds us.' especially resonated with me. Nicely done, Kim. hugs, Sara

I can never understand why the Japanese launched that attack. If they hadn't, I often wonder would the war have dragged on longer than it did. Tom
