“All art is autobiographical. The pearl is the oyster’s autobiography.” - Federico Fellini Scars, reminders What was once painful, Has changed to a special flaw, Sometimes only a hint, Subtly secreted, the blame Beneath a thought, a whisper Singing to the spirit, Colored in rose and gentle, Comforting the heart Who listens, the blemish, Revealing the hidden Heart, the music of a soul, Who dances with the light, Stirring grace, embracing the pearl, Both significant and surreal, Emphasizing what is sincere, The beautiful buried between layers of grief, Anguish leaking through in dewlike sweetness, Amazing even the truth With the beauty of its secret.

Dearest Gina, through the layers of each line the hidden pearl of beauty is revealed in the amazing revelations of truth. From scars comes the recognition of "stirring grace" in co9mfort and the joyful dance. There are as many layers to your wonderful poem as there are to a pearl. Congratulations on your win. Blessings and hugs to you, dear friend!

Dearest Gina, the depth and breadth of your emotive and evocative artistry is stunning! Not that I'm surprised, your golden pen outshines the June sun with ease as it spills its brilliant ink upon the page and my soul. I adore your grand finale "Amazing even the truth/With the beauty of its secret." -wow! Damn that's a masterful stroke! Congratulations for your win in Craig's contest. Warmest wishes, love and hugs my sweet friend.. ~Susan

wow! This poem is stunning and masterfully created...it's the kind of poem I was hoping to write for the contest but just couldn't get mine to come together. Loved the flow of each and every line. I thought your image was great as one the initial quote. Well done, Gina. Have a fabulous day, hugs, Sara
