Peacock

The peacock struts, it is a sight to see Spreading a fan of its color with glee Iridescent tails that are green and blue Showing off in mating rituals to view From a member of the pheasant family born If losing another, like anyone would mourn As they eat grain, fruit and seeds before flight Some people don’t know these birds can fly Often mesmerized by their beauty to the eye Heidi Sands 10/6/19 Placed 6th in the Writing challenge, October, 2019 Bird

Hello Heidi … a truly majestic bird indeed. One problem though is if two cock birds are at a distance; their constant calling can near drive you insane. You have described these birds really well - thanks Heidi - Lindsay

Very descriptive write heidi with super imagery. Our friends wish they couldn't fly as their neighbour has an ever increasing brood which decimate her garden :-( hugs Jan xx

Guess I am 'some people:' I had no idea that peacocks could actually fly, though I have seen them spread/fan their glorious plumage. Thanks, Heidi! :) gw
