Peaches and Cream

Living on the thin skin
of a peach in space
its fuzz
our everything

but for that flat fruit
and saccharine fever dreams
the cream is turning our peach
into a nectarine

Very clever Maureen, me sees many layers beneath the peaches and cream, our atmosphere for one is indeed everything, and a true peach, the second stanza is possibly more dark with an admonishment for mankind, especially the cream amongst us, doing their best to strip our Earth clean, excellent piece of metaphorical poetry, cheers David, captcha WHY I took a screenshot for posterity

Well if my world was the peach fuzz I'd be quite devastated with the smooth skinned nectarine replacement - especially if cream needed negotiating and I'd acclimatised to a previously fluffy environment! I can console myself that it is just a fever dream and personally I prefer a nectarine (to eat - although peaches have previous for being a home to many if I use Roal Dahl as the authority on such matters!) - interesting thoughts 😊

Fever dreams, climate change or hot flashes, and smoke is in the air, I’m smokin’ something! Cheers Laurentine, xomo

Either one would be fine with me, Mo. I have a sweet tooth! I love your phrase, " saccharine fever dreams."
