Peaceful Planet
Roman candles
fired on a summer night
The sound of fireworks
celebrate a
festival
We don't yet have a peaceful
planet
Yet we know
that
dreams of
unending
tranquility
still reverberate
in the hearts of
the people
As bright
Alpha Centauri
appears in
the night sky
The population
is moved
let's watch as
the years spill
themselves
down through a funnel
We'll learn from this
that action is
necessary
So, lift yourself
from sleep
Taste the
fruits of summer
Get yourself
ready
for a ride
into
the new age
Let your feelings
all be in service
of the inevitable dawn
