Peaceful Dreams

Hitched a ride on a reindeer last night As Northern Lights painted the sky On top of a manger below The most heavenly star cast its glow In the frosty air, voices I heard The angelic choir spreading God’s word “On this Christmas Morn, a Savior is born” When the snow finally started to fall I had visions of peace for us all Every nation had faith, hope and joy There was love for each girl and each boy But when I woke, things were not as they’d seemed Can we only find peace in our dreams “There’ll be no crisis; no talk of ISIS On this Christmas morn, a Savior is born” *November 1, 2016

I love the way you dream, Carolyn!! Having experienced the 60s I cannot but recall the slogan of Love & Peace. All we need is love...trust...and hope. As long as there are people of good faith, then not all is lost! Hugs // paul

Beautifully done Carolyn. We can only find peace by giving in to God's Will. He gives the peace that passes all understanding. Nicely done and an early Merry Christmas to all. A seven from me. God Bless, JB

Yes, it seems we can find peace only in dreams. I do a lot of it. Very fine and timely, Carolyn. Love, Dave

A beautifully inspirational write, Carolyn! 'Arthur vaso' has very much summed this up...begins with 'thoughts of kindness', which becomes a 'pay it forward' movement. Loving this poem! Hugs, Mikki :)

Peace starts with thoughts of kindness, then words of kindness, then poems of kindness, and then a small kind gesture here and there, if we can bring peace around us, we can surely spread it. I loved this poem!

Though peace is not at hand, it stays forever in my heart. We can't give up hope.

A beautiful poem for a beautiful dream, Mrs Carolyn. Unfortunately, dreams are the only place one can find peace in these turbulent days.

Sometimes I cry just thinking how violent our world has become. Still, we continue our quest for peace.

I wish things were as you dreamt Carolyn. I fear for my children's generation. I love your poem.

Today's children are growing up with threats we never had to face. So sad.

What a beautiful message you have conveyed, Carolyn. I take long walks on the beach and through the forest every day to free my mind from the horrors still going on in this world. It is so nice to see your beautiful face again and read your uplifting poetry. Your old friend, Elaine (Lainey)

Nicely done Carolyn. How you brought the headlines of today in with the "headlines written in the stars" of the past was fantastic. Beautifully written.
