Peace Sans War

Of what good is love?
If it is without compassion,
Of what good is charity?
If it fosters misgivings,
Of what good is hope?
If it is without perseverance,
Of what good is valor?
If it breeds vanity,
Of what good is knowledge?
If it is without vision,
Of what good is progress?
If it erodes moral values,
Of what good is religion?
If it fails to salvage the soul;

Of what good is harmony?
If it is born of discord,
Of what good is peace?
If it is born of war!
