Peace of mind

Fake friends, real enemies
Many poisons, few remedies
Less wood and more bark
Ye shun light to hide in the dark

The peace and health of mind
Was in enduring assurance one could find
In loving and trusted kin and allies
But rude shocks are now in great supplies

Ye take pressure and bottle it up
With nowhere to spill from the overflowing cup
And suddenly when you can take no more
An outburst that leaves you and others sore

Keep your eyes stayed on God
For ye are up against odd after odd
For He promises such perfect peace
That baffles understanding just by its ease
