Peace in simplicity

There's peace in simplicity. Embrace it. Peace in simplicity By Michelle Morris 18/05/2025 There's peace in simplicity Look around; feel calm and whole The less things you own The less stress on your soul People forget about this When they chase material things But once you leave this mortal coil It's mostly stressful for the remaining beings Those loved ones who have to navigate The rooms filled with (mostly) useless stuff Things you never worked through Cluttering up space, collecting dust And as each person passes on Another takes on the mantle of stress Why not give it away in good time? Make the less fortunate feel blessed? The things you own and accumulate Bear no reflection on your worth They merely become stagnant energy Stopping you from being free on earth I have met people who own almost nothing They have peace in this simplicity They have freedom to roam and explore Getting in touch with their divinity This doesn't mean we don't want beauty Or aesthetic appeal in our lives It merely means that we focus on the core things That create a home and hearth that thrives Because when we focus on what matters Like love and hugs and kindness We find the greatest peace on earth The connections that truly bind us © Michelle Morris, 2025
