Pawn
Just as I read
in a book of Japanese poems
a snail may look at a sunset
and just as a cat
may look at a queen
a pawn in a chess game
may still see the play
and be a judge
and make judgement
and be more than a pawn
the chess game, one day
may rely more on the pawn
than it wants to
