Captivated many with dancing skills he conveys
Football he would have pursued but he got an injury
Starring in Dirty Dancing, his dancing skills seemed gingery

An admirable individual, whose performances as a lead character in many of his films were memorable. His ailment that eventually led to his passing was heartbreaking, for he is sorely missed. Greatly appreciate your thought-filled clerihew in honor of his memory. I am clueless about his football life, thank you for sharing. Aloha, William.

I am delighted that you also liked his films, William. Yes, pancreatic cancer almost always wins. He either hurt his knee in high school or in college. I think maybe high school. I appreciate the time spent here. Sara K

A very solid, sturdy entry if for a contest, Sara. Impressive rhyming and detail. In answer to your pertinent question about Hope etc as journal entries I woul say yes only to an extent. The eye, mind, and memory are the best journals in my view. The story celebrates age, young and old alike. Detailed observation its recurring theme. This work was shortlisted in a CreativeWritingInk contest. It has been given a Member Poem Of Day award on Poetry Nook. Howard
