Patchin

When your clothes are worn and torn with no money to shop, You're patchin! When your car makes a loud noise and rolls to a stop, You're patchin! When your teeth are full of holes but you need them to eat, You're patchin! When your shoes are worn out wearing blisters on your feet, You're patchin! When the roof you're sleeping under is letting in rain, You're patchin! When your days come and go and all you feel is pain, You're patchin! When your eyes are getting dim, but you need to see how to go, You're patchin! Glasses or contacts, and it's not a good thing, you know, You're patchin! When women's hair turns gray, but they don't want it to show, They're patchin! When someone near you speaks, but you hear not what they say, You're patchin! When you've said the wrong thing, and the spouse is in a huff, You're patchin! And you find that "I'm sorry," is just not enough, You're patchin! This life of temporal existence, is filled with patchin, that's true, But yonder in that eternal home, no patching for the redeemed to do! Thanks to the Lord Jesus, patchin forever done and through! For He patched up with a perfect patch, redemption for me and you! The old testament saints from year to year, their patchin never done, But God sealed and closed the books on it all, when He sent His Son! -DW

Corey, great poem, on ordinary & extraordinary patching work in life! But is patching women's hair also what its called, when they "turn gray"?
