I am aware (for those who also are "aware") that the word "pastorale", properly used, denotes a work of music, not of words....however, I claim the right, because I want to, and because I am feeling a little combative, to add the "e" to the end of the more accurate title, "pastoral" (a term that seems to me to be more properly used as an adjective than as a noun)...so, I have no intention of making a "correction."  lol lol

"If you need a thesaurus to find the right word, then it's the wrong word." -- a remembered, probably misquoted, old maxim. A week of rain has left my yard spongy but quite lush -- and birds, now, are again appearing. A small, strange toad -- here rarely seen -- startled me yesterday at my threshold. Inside, my three cats persistently attacked a lone long lizard hiding in an artificial palm. I mention minutiae, breathe deeply in and out: my unremarkable reality, my routine life... Too often, words -- and problematic politics -- intrude.

You transform ordinary into extraordinary. Enough detail to capture ones interest while allowing ones mind to fill in the blanks. A delicate poetic balance.

What a delightful snapshot in time, Leo. I also applaud your unabashed use of your poetic license. You go ahead and put that “e” wherever you want! ~Mark
