Past His Prime But Doing Fine
Dedicated to one of my favorite actors, Morgan Freeman
“Driving Miss Daisy” was driving him crazy
So old Morgan Freeman assumed a new role
It proved much more fun next to Jack Nicholson
“Bucket List” jumping through an atmosphere cool
With Brad Pitt, a rookie wed to a cookie,
The “Seven” most deadly sins unfolded
But as “Robin Hood’s” friend, the laughs didn’t end
And the “Spider” never bothered him a tad
Yes, this Oscar winner proved he’s no sinner
Playing Nelson Mandela in “Invictus”
What more can I say than how I dread the day
When the silver screen is Morgan Freemanless
For each aging actor time’s soon a factor
We bid Newman, Fonda and Stewart farewell
For me there won’t be one more gifted than he
With such a “Deep Impact,” shoes too big to fill
* Along Came a Spider, Driving Miss Daisy, The Bucket List, Seven, Robin Hood,
Prince of Thieves (Kevin Costner version), Invictus and Deep Impact are but a few
of the many movies in which Morgan Freeman starred.
