Passing Years

Twas many, many years ago That we betrothed our love A union for the two of us Sent forth by God above We are no longer young in years We've wrinkled some with age But love endures, yes love sustains With each timeless turning page Love is something you cannot touch No matter age or season What causes enduring love to last There is no rhyme or reason Perhaps we see each other As we were from years ago God's love or us has caused our love To thrive and continually grow God's love for us is timeless A thing that time can't touch And still we utter to each other I still love you very much Although our hair is tinged with grey And wrinkles line our face God's love for us is steadfast With His enduring grace!

Very nice flow and rhythm to this. It is a good description of a long-standing stable marriage. This feels like something I'd write for my husband of 21 yrs, although I'm not claiming gray yet.;)

Janet, try 60 years and the love keeps getting better. God bless you and may your 21 years turn into much more. Grey is the color of the day. George.

The poem flows with a pleasant beat and the words say everything by evoking thoughts within the reader's consciousness because it is so easy to relate to the message of love in your poem. Emile. #7
