Passage

So smug I was before So rattled now by the ticking clock, Thought I'd live forever, Or longer than I will Time took you away from me, To where I do not know I mourn each minute Without you here, Each hour brings me woe The scents of spring, The cleansing snows of winter, Pass me by unnoticed All I remember is your arms Around me And the sweet breath Of unspoken love The room, now cold, The heart withered, The life over, Save but in sweet dreams Of times long gone, I only hope you Somehow realized My love burned bright and true And when my final Minute comes, I will think of naught but you.
