Parting Is Not Always An End

Please don't you cry dear friend
As we say our goodbyes
Life has been a pleasure to us
To have been part of each others lives

Though we part and say farewell
This isn't the very end
The next chapter in our lives
Is just barely beginning

We've come to the part in our books
That require different roads
So you take yours and I'll take mine
We'll see where this adventure goes

Along the way I'll think of you
I'll hold you in my heart
I'll smile when I think of you
And our very funny start

We didn't care much for each other
Both stubborn as a mule
Funny how we're standing here
Both crying like a fool

We learned some lessons though
Along this winding road
No matter our opinionated differences
No one wants to be alone

So you compromise a little bit
One day at a time
Than one day you won't forget
How to make the other smile

So as we part as friends
Continue on our way
Lets cherish this moment forever
And remember it everyday
