Part Time Poet

I fear not my quill and parchment as
time has not been on my side….
but I weep knowing my gift has not
been the same this year.
My depth was astounding and freely
real; metaphors swept with whispers
of truth.

Seasons rotate within my mind and
circumstances revealed my inner
needs.
I realized I dread not picking up my
quill, but worry what is to be written.
For I am but a withering poet seeking
praise and sadness at the same time-
a woman who has been to hell and
back inside years of miserable pain.

"For I fear not my quill and parchment,
as time has not been on my side-
But am afraid one day my muse will
soar into the vast crimson eventide."

I really know where you’re coming from... the fear of giving yourself in a poem... then the fear of NOT giving yourself, which prompts frenzied writing... then the fear that you CAN’T give yourself because your muse or your mojo or whatever has left you... It is cyclical. There is no withering, just lulls. Splendid poem Luloo.
