i chose the song " part time lover" a song i grew up hearing, cus its one of my moms favorite song. Hah

H e a r t ~
a museum of mosaic mysteries
of handwritten manuscripts
tattooed with crimson needles
from acrylic sunsets,
when dusk cradles
the obsidian chambers of celestial havens,
homing soul-kept secrets
that ricochet with romanticized sins,
as my beloved moon,
you’ve long been my part-time lover
  in darkness and cursed corners
where the sparkling jewels
and the nocturnal nightingales
heed the unsung chorus of
    our clandestine rendezvous.
For we are forbidden roses,
  like Psyche in star-kissed silence,
  t r a c i n g Eros with
wounded wings of feathered fate ~
an unwritten myth of undying sorcery,
magic merged with vehement tears,
chasing love against the snake sun…

So when the sky unfurls,
morning streaks of cinnamon and gold,
write to me discreet letters~
    enveloped with paper promises,
    sealed with enigmatic echoes,
    carved with infatuated ink.
Let the wind carry your wisteria words;
here I’ll wait for the ardent touch
     of your feverish perfume….

O familiar stranger,
tangled in the violet vortex of swooning flowers,
we feel the heat of trembling twilight~
a mirage of this devotion.
You and me, part-time lovers,
     a midnight escapade
the universe can never illuminate,
      a lyrical liaison
the sun can never illustrate,
for we are unrhymed metaphors
lost in the murky meadows
of green-eyed reverie,
where love wears the color of raven tears,
yet heartbeats sigh,
    tied in lavender and lilac
             to the
                   amaranthine arms
                            of hyacinth halcyon…

Dearest Ink Empress your masterful writing captures from the moment it begins until end with amazing imagery alliteration and beautiful references like “ For we are forbidden roses, like Psyche in star-kissed silence, t r a c i n g Eros with wounded wings of feathered fate ~ an unwritten myth of undying sorcery, magic merged with vehement tears, chasing love against the snake sun…” It was a fun fact that your mom likes this song too! Thanks for your support and congratulations on your win!

I have been there where I felt close to my heart, as things around me seemed hard. Beautiful work, by the way - I will come later and read more of your work. I have to go for now. <3

IE, sounds like a difficult situation to be in. Always wanting more, and not being able to escape to something better. If that's true, then it's a very difficult situation to be in for this person. Easy for anyone on the outside to give advice, but then we're not inside the head of the one feeling a need for something more. Not being satisfied is a very difficult position to be in and haunts many people who just cannot escape this condition. Glad it's inspired by a song! Well done and smiles!

I don't think I have ever heard the song. I guess none of us can be full time lovers because we have to come up for air every once in a while. Great work. Sara K

The moon as part time lover. Super creative, Ink. I wish I could think the way you do. My triple Virgo is just to earth bound to carry me to ethereal skies! The last five lines . . . Ahhh. You really know how to make a great ending.

Imagery and metaphors dazzle this poem. A contrast of yearning and beauty. The visuals are magnificent. Let the wind carry your wisteria words: incredible sentence. A breath-taking poem.
