Part 2
of
The Wreath of Chives
at the Celebration of chives.
Bouts were done upon the
mounts of clay with a burlap canvas
pinned to the edges.
the winner
were gifted a Cup full of coins
and a trophy with a wreath of chives and olive leave
on them.
During the warmest days of the fall
the year prior
they would meet to pray for the warmest day
were they would meet at the festival of soap.
crowd goers were all people
But the show was centered for lovers
Spring was the background for love
Concessions of food and wines
a tent with rooms were
Lovers would stand in a room to
pass notes to an anonymous translator
They would wait to hear the word of there love
The Bassoonist continues
They would wait to
hear the words of there lover
through the holes
drilled into the wall.
There were often told if there mate
would marry or if it was time to
seek another
It was held usually during the time
of the then Pagan worship of Christ
they would melt 100 coins and pour it into a
form to create a trophy .
