Parking Violation

My daughter was not aware of any notification, so when a tow truck pulled up it was an indication and all because of a parking violation, her car was towed to another destination. The implication of the vehicle’s location led to an ongoing verbal altercation. Now because of the rising situation, the accusation heightened the level of my daughter’s frustration. So without hesitation, my daughter wanted immediate affirmation which caused her to seek others validation. She was so focused on how wrong the driver was and how he didn’t have to tow, that he could have taken a few dollars and just let her car go. To her, she was only parked there for a few minutes, so of course she didn’t want to hear her part in it. I tried through communication to break down the process of elimination. Step 1 - You parked your car in that spot. Step 2 - Your car was towed. Step 3 - You had to pay a fee. Now mind you, there would be no Step 2 and 3 without a Step 1. Of course she wasn’t satisfied, she truly thought I was picking sides. There was no level of appreciation, because her not knowing her irritation caused her to miss the gratification in being thankful that the car was towed, not stole. And yes, this could have been avoided and this didn’t have to be, but thank God she was financially blessed and able to pay the fee. After all of this, there was wisdom to gain, never park your car again within a fire lane. Moral of the story - Learn to appreciate the blessings in life’s lessons.
