This poem gives me the urge to travel. I liked your poem and how it states that art is a pleasant combination of colors.

I've found your Van Gogh poem Marikate and having read it I feel you have captured so well the spirit of the flawed genius. I like your juxtaposition of his suffering with the beauty of his paintings. I visited his travelling exhibition in Manchester UK two years ago almost to the day and like you were blown away by it. Hello Gary. I was lucky enough to see the travelling exhibit too. Wasn't it something? WOW. I could have stayed there all day. I was mesmerized. I enjoy Impressionist artisits a little more, but certainly to me any art history is worth learning about a little. Gosh, you're certainly welcome. Last year I saw the Van Gogh traveling exhibit in Manhattan. Words can almost not describe it. It was just mid blowing. It may still be showing in other states even now. I studied art in college and I found his art and story fascinating. I confess to being a Monet and Matisse fan though. Thank you very much for your nice comment. :)

Thank you. I love to paint and I've always loved French Impressionism the most. Although Van Gogh was not an Impressionist but a post impressionist, I find his history intriguing. Such a sad soul with such interesting talent. Thank you for your nice comment.

Thank you Gershon. I enjoy painting and some art history as well. My favorite artists include the impressionist Monet and Matisse. Such interesting men. Sickening to believe that they threw out or damaged their work at times because society disapproved or they hated it. Work that would now sell for millions .

What a lovely write, Marikate, incorporating just a few of Van Gogh's masterpieces painted from a troubled soul that still could find beauty in starry nights and sunflowers! You are so right, even though he sometimes lived in darkness, we see the light through his paintings not focusing on the dark background but on the stars themselves. Lovely work! Blessings.
