Pardon Me, Pardon My 4-
She:
How very noble of you to say such.
But I disagree.
If this is where it is meant to be,
I would have smile rather than a smug.
He:
About two decades ago.
On rainy day.
I saw a sight, a sight that roasted my heart.
And not only my heart by the way.
She:
Ha-ha
He:
Hilarious, but it is very much true.
I vowed to myself that I would make her mine.
The following day, still a rainy day.
I stood by the path she took.
With a bunch of roses from my garden.
I had revised my lines all night.
She:
A very bold move that was.
He:
I thought so too.
But we did not think alike.
I greeted her modestly with the flowers in hand.
All she did was stare at me and walked right past.
She:
What a terrible person.
He:
I did not think that way at that time.
You have to understand that I was perfectly whipped.
I thought she was just playing coy.
Nevertheless, the exact following day.
With a bunch of fresh flowers.
The sun fortunately had smiled on me.
I felt optimistic.
She:
Did it pay off?
He:
Well, at that time it did not.
Pardon my harshness,
But she had a heart like that of a tiger then.
I would not know now though.
However on that sunny day.
Passing right by me, she said..
“Should you not be on a rail road or something?
A girl of my calibre would never find you as a suitor”
You can imagine my embarrassment.
She:
(Aghast)
He:
I was never a man to give up easily.
Even after being told she had denied many suitors.
Including the noble as you like to call them.
She was waiting for a white night, they said.
I tried anyway.
She:
I did not……you look….
He:
I courted her for a good year and a half.
Brought her flowers, which were always tossed.
I bought her chocolates once.
With the very last of my pennies.
She threw them in a river.
Caught a cold waiting for her to pass by her path.
She scowled at me.
Did not even offer me shelter of her umbrella.
