Years ago, I had two pretty parakeet birds, the girl, I called Sky for she was blue like the sky; Forest was hues, both were hard to describe in words, sometimes, I opened their blue cage so they could fly ! The girl, I called Sky for she was blue like the sky, in time, they became lovers with kisses and tweets; I sprayed them with water and they flapped wings to dry, they both sang loud and could be heard for many streets ! In time, they became lovers with kisses and tweets, then, the landlord said, "your parakeets, they must go;" on their last day I gave my birds kisses and treats, and I found a home for them with a friend I know ! Then, the landlord said, "your parakeets, they must go," Forest was hues, both were hard to describe in words; and I found a home for them with a friend I know, years ago, I had two pretty parakeet birds ! ________________ May 26, 2021 Poetry/Pantoum/Parakeets, I Have Loved Copyright Protected, ID 05-1358-313-26 All Rights Reserved, 2021, Constance La France Written for the Standard contest, Pantoum Rhyme sponsor, Eve Roper (Inspiration pic #2) Judged 06/26/2021

Mystic, thank you for the compliment, mom had one she called Pete, one day she put his cage on the porch and the wind knocked it over, then she had my brother not long after and called him Peter, who became of course Pete ~ love and serenity _Constance

Constance, I would have thought that the picture matches their names, albeit, you have piqued my interest in Forest, hmm, most intriguing -- Alas! That ol' meany! All in all, your pantoum was remarkable and I enjoyed reading it. My compliments on your win my friend, Aloha!

Christuraj, thank you for the compliment and congratulations, I loved my parakeets but they were just TOO loud for an apartment, peace _Constance

It's getting pretty bad when you can't even keep a budgie. I say move to a place where you can keep your beloved little friends. That's just too much. I am an animal lover and have had many little birdies. Loved them all. God Bless, JB

Judy, Thank you for the comment, yes, I was heartbroken, but admit they were so happy and very, very loud, which is not good when living in an apartment. I would have to move to the country, but they were sent to a place with a friend who loves birds and has many and I can visit, Forest is gone to bird Heaven and Sky has found a new lover though she is getting old for a bird, love _Constance
