LOVE IS: - that which is sculpted by time yet defies time... - that which energizes yet drains all energy... - that which is focused by the lens of sacrifice yet denies any sacrifice was made... - made strong by sharing weaknesses... - made pure by sharing impurities... - made joyful by sharing burdens... - made eternal by sharing time...

Love the contrasting phrases. Nicely done, John - a perfect way to craft the notion of paradox. Love your examples. Congrats and kudos on your first place win! Another one over the fence into the parking lot! And, you get the ball back, my friend!

Thanks Andrea, I realized earlier this week that I had never entered it in a contest. As much as I like to write in meter and rhyme, Brian seems to prefer my free verse entries...

Love, sweet a pain.. in its trance, blind and insane.. absorbent of all the senses.. breeding feels of unique taste.. I liked your thoughts on Love, John. I enjoyed reading them in your poetic flair! Best regards and blessings.

You capture the elusive harmony of love so gracefully here - my favorite: "made pure/by sharing impurities" - just lovely!
