~paper Chains and Blindness~

I've seen too many bleached standards
laying limp against pseudo erections,
to dive into conformity,

where a heroes roar is stifled
to conspiracy whispers,
dribbled out with exquisite timing
to a starving mob just waiting to swallow
the next lie,

and I have burned at many stakes
for slipping into abstract revelations;
Dali-like, letting the boundaries slide,

but always each misconception
leaves a trail of broken paper chains
that bound us into tunnel vision,

that ghost we call freedom.
