Pantoum In Brigadoom

I had first seen Kate in the heather on the hill; killin' time, waitin’ for my dearie, my Colleen, knowing full well which of the two can fill my bill. But plans change, I think I’ll go home with Bonnie Jean. Killin' time, waitin’ for my dearie, my Colleen, being in love’s contagious when love’s in the air; but plans change, I think I’ll go home with Bonnie Jean. Hours wasted, sitting down in MacConnachy Square. Being in love’s contagious when love’s in the air. I’ll show you, Colleen, all this wait doesn’t rate. Hours wasted, sitting down in MacConnachy Square, from this day on, no more watching vendors sell bait. I’ll show you, Colleen, all this wait doesn’t rate; the chase is no fun when your darling will not fly. From this day on, no more watching vendors sell bait. I’m thinking Jean’s the one; there but for you go I. The chase is no fun when your darling will not fly. Wondering who’s the love of my life, my sweet bride, I’m thinking Jean’s the one; there but for you go I. I'd met Bonnie Jean right after my father died. Wondering who’s the love of my life, my sweet bride? It’s almost like being in love, I hear dad’s voice. I'd met Bonnie Jean right after my father died. Come to me, bend to me, help me make the right choice. It’s almost like being in love, I hear dad’s voice after the party on my mother’s wedding day. Come to me, bend to me, help me make the right choice. An interrupt, Jeannie’s packing up, what to say? After the party on my mother’s wedding day, knowing full well which of the two can fill my bill. An interrupt, Jeannie’s packing up, what to say? I had first seen Kate in the heather on the hill. written April 24, 2018 contest: Music Pantoum host: Silent One This pantoum contains these 12 titles from Lerner and Lowe’s musical, Brigadoon (1947) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigadoon The Heather on the Hill Waitin' for My Dearie I'll Go Home with Bonnie Jean Down in MacConnachy Square From This Day On The Chase The Love of My Life There But For You Go I Almost Like Being in Love My Mother's Wedding Day Come to Me, Bend to Me Jeannie's Packing Up

There were a couple I left out, admittedly. I'm pleased with one of the 2nd level placements. I welcome the contest, would call these writes, a sort of cento - where you use lines from other poets to construct a piece. Thanks Silent One, for the recognition and encouragement.

Wonderful, Reason - one of my favorite films! From the genius of Lerner & Leowe and Vincente Minnelli, and the extraordinary talents of Gene Kelly, Cyd Charisse, and Van Johnson ... my mom never liked the matte paintings, but I adored them, (only South Pacific tops it, in my opinion). Superb write full of romance and joy! :-)

thank you, Greg, there have been many adaptations of the the theme since 1947. The music is supreme, especially There But For You Go I.

I thank you, Anne-Lise. The pantoum is not an easy form to read or write, I appreciate your generous comment. Have a great day.
