Pangie was struggling in the heat
Said this heat wave sure has me beat
This old hot sun
Is no damn fun
Its swelling my poor little feet.

Written on 18th August 2020.

Dedicated to Panagiota who is struggling in the Californian heat wave.
On a serious note I hope things cool down for her.
She gave kind permission to post it.

Temperatures are rising world wide and within the next 5 years predictions have it that crops will die vegetation will die, animals will starve and humans? Keep cool Panagiota - well penned Tom, Blessings, Jennifer.

A great Limerick and a tribute to a genuine poetry soul! Death Valley in California recoded a record 135 F a few days ago! That is 55 degrees C I have briefly suffered in the Middle East!! Hope your limerick brings in some cooling!

Hello Tom ... heat waves do have an effect on us no doubt and Panagiota is suffering from one. Been though it a few times myself, and with the swollen ankles. I could only dream of ice and snow - thanks Tom - Lindsay

Laughing at your Limerick, Tom, but feeling sorry for Panagiota in all that heat! Here in Malta we're in the 90s, but still less than California's 106 F. ~ Regards // paul

Hi Paul...it was 113 The other day, yesterday was 109. Sacramento was worse. Given the topography here and the immense size of the state, there is no ONE temp for California as you know, big fires raging too. Blackouts only in some cities, Panagiota xx
