Notes About The Poem

For Suzette Richard's Contest "The Good Old Days". Date July 23, 2026

pale passion shines

storm rages flower
wilted petals fly away
they return in spring
hued joy wraps my withered heart
pale passion shines with love glow

Congratulations, Subimal. I enjoyed the clipped phrases. Just one thing: I hesitated at the first line - maybe a comma after "rages"?

Sorry, Suzette, for the delay in my response. You are absolutely right, there should have been a comma after "rages". The poem is without punctuation, so omitted it. Thank you for your observation and suggestion.

Congrats on this winner. Way to go for the contest. It is sad to see a beautiful flower in bloom then a hard rain that makes all the petals fall off. It is hard on the person who loves and the love falls apart. Sara
