Pale Blue Dot:

On this pale blue dot in which all man lives, Take a moment to think what all this means, The animals, plant life and all that gives, Pleasures taken from all the sublime scenes. But from outer space, it looks like a dot, A world full of wonders and miracles, Evolution working in every spot, Like with the lunar nodes that push and pull. A fascinating place to say the least, From volcanos to tsunamis and more, But the sun will always rise in the east, With every ocean, you will find its shore. Could one explain this world to another? To us, we simply call her our mother. /|\ (Ten syllables per line) 22~11~16

Beautifully written sonnet my friend. This blue dot has a great treasure in the wonders of Nature, yet even greater in the wonders of mankind AND ITS CREATIVITY.. A great sonnet and great inspiration in this exceptional poem my friend.

Yeah, I was watching a show on the cosmos last night, and just as voyager past Neptune (or thereabouts) it turned and took one last photo of earth. And they called it the pale blue dot. So naturally, I had to do a poem on it! ha /|\

Carl Sagan would be proud of the way you use his phrase to form this wonderful poem. Kudos Rick.

Nice work. I especially like the last two lines in the second stanza, "...Like with the lunar nodes that push and pull..." :: The miracles of evolution effortlessly connecting/corresponding/crossing/forking/intersecting. -- Wesley C.
