"Hobby" Rhyming Contest

Paintings on the top are done by myself!

A variety of fine brushes…thin, medium, wide, soft and smooth... to paint landscapes - sky, ocean, tree, at tranquil dawn, my backyard turns into an oasis, A transient escape for peace, sanctuary for me! Focused on visual delight, savour sublimity! umbrella-like willow, lush leaves offering shade, dainty roses bloom, elegant hydrangea smiles, playful birds chirp, frisky squirrels run, until daylight fade! Sky often mesmerizing vermillion at quiet dawn, sun rises, waking up the world, with glorious light bees frolic, pretty butterflies kiss ravishing flowers, I get lost in the beauty of a captivating sight! My blank canvases get covered with gorgeous paints, I dip and glide my brush, whimsical colours I splash in, sunset at Arabian Sea, sunrise on Himalayas, create amazing views even where I had never been! Poetry, cascading fountain of our soul, paints life with words, Painters, sparked by imagination, borrow colours from Nature, Depict the surreal universe with unique perspectives, Poetry and Art, blend, connect, compensate each other.

Dear Mala, you are a painter of colors and words alike ! Your landscape paintings I have seen on face book. Your poetry is indeed painting with words, I have always felt. "Poetry and Art, blend, connect, compensate each other." So very true. All the Best dear Mala!

Dearest Mala, I’m back to say wow - these paintings are superb. So stunning! You are so talented with your brushstrokes as I knew you would be with your artistic, poetic eye. I think art and poetry go so well together as you have so expertly shown us here. I love these - the second one in particular is so visually stunning with its colouring. The reflection dancing upon the water is breathtaking. It’s an honour to see these and I hope we will be able to see more in the future.

Dearest Mala, what a delightful read this is as we share with you your passion for painting and admire your beautiful, poetic words. You have captured so much natural beauty here with the birds, leaves, flowers and so much more. I love,’ pretty butterflies kiss ravishing flowers ‘ sunset at Arabian Sea ‘ especially. Gorgeous imagery. You are so multi talented dear one and it’s a privilege to always read your poetry. Perhaps one day you could accompany one of your poems with one of your paintings

Your comments brought tears to my eyes, Christina. My life wasn't easy - only poets like you will understand the struggles i have gone through for many years, and at last I have found my oasis in creative activities.

Dearest Christina, So delighted to read your comment! I feel honoured that a brilliant poet like you find my poem delightful! You have given me a great idea - I almost forgot that we could post some pictures with our poems. So now I have added pictures of two of my paintings - the first one is inspired by Van Gogh. Hope you like these paintings, Christina. Forgot to mention to you, I have added one simple vegetarian/vegan recipe, especially for you, with the blog - Chapter 3 - I posted this time. Love and many Hugs ~

Dear Poet, Your comments truly inspire me, when sometimes I lose motivation. I pursue quite a few hobbies, painting is one of them. What I described in this poem, is a true picture of my summer days. I wait for summer, especially to be outside to paint...it is such a calming, relaxing and creative activity. Best wishes to You ~

Wow this is absolutely gorgeous dear mala! I love it! So you are a painter of words and colors too, how creative you are, and also an excellent cook i can tell, i really love the way you’ve written this in such a descriptive manner with clever word pairings and flow of lines! So artistic! I especially loved “umbrella-like willow, lush leaves offering shade, dainty roses bloom, elegant hydrangea smiles, playful birds chirp, frisky squirrels run, until daylight fade!” Beyond impeccable! Dearest Inky, Your beautiful comments mean so much to me! I have quite a few hobbies - sometimes I don't know which one to focus on. After Poetry, I engage myself with vocal music, which comes naturally to me. For art, I have learned a really rare art - similar like Russian Faberge Eggs - at some point, I used to be totally engrossed with that activity. You are right - I love delicious and healthy cooking, especially for my children, and now for two grandsons! I should focus on improving my writing at this time, but can not stay away from all other creative activities. Your poems inspire me, Dear Ink Empress, I am learning from you. Love and Hugs ~

I enjoyed your descriptive lines and your information about your painting hobby. How delightful that you pursue two creative endeavors (poetry and art). They complement each other. One is tactile while the other is abstract until words appear on the page. Well done! best wishes with the contest, Sara

Dear Sara, Your comments are thoughtful and kind. I pursue quite a few hobbies - I engage myself in vocal music more than I do painting. I learned a very rare kind of visual art - similar to Faberge Eggs - for many years I was totally absorbed in that special activity. Really appreciate your sweetest comment, Love and Hugs to you, Dearest Sara.
