Painters Appreciation
The painter stayed with us for about two months.
He said he wanted to repay our hospitality.
Mom owned an old dresser she kept saying she was going to make pretty.
But she did not have time or did not make time.
Before the painter left he gave her a tremendous gift.
He had painted her great-grandmother’s dresser in beautiful colors.
In hues of pinks, oranges and yellows.
Unbeknownst to him,
these were her grandmother’s favorite colors.
