Notes About The Poem

Paint the Sky

i’m going to paint a silly picture
as big and bold as big and bold can be
release the most flamboyant colors feeling free
and o what awesome dreams they’ll conjure

i’ll grab my biggest paintbrush
the one that shapes the biggest strokes
for folks i’ll paint a hundred thousand rainbows
and children’s laughter will overthrow their hush

i’ll pick the brightest hues of cheerful blue
to paint the sky its merriest joyful shade
all birds will want to fly and happily parade
while belting out their songs in praise for you

This is a cheerful poem. I liked the line about painting a hundred million rainbows.

The artist in you is dancing, whirling and twirling with joy, and I am picking up my paintbrush now thanks to this one.

This poem captures painting perfectly. Painting in not how it looks but how the painter feels while painting.
