Painful Choice

Tears flowing from her eyes Her heart throbbing Her head so confused Wondering why she’s still here All this becomes constant Never ceasing to occur every night She has no idea What needs to be done She’s being forced to choose Between the two she loves the most But how can she? For if she does She will hurt the other And make them feel As if they’ve been stabbed in the back She’s afraid of resentment and hate That the other might feel So what can she do? Except for cry And tell her head That the choice she makes is the right one And try to release all emotions And get rid of all guilt that she will feel If she proceeds to choose So that when the time comes It will be less painful But even so It will feel as if she’s stabbed herself in the back ~11/21/2017
